Abirapro 250 Mg Tablets are primarily used in the treatment of metastatic prostate cancer. It contains the drug Abiraterone acetate, which is a CYP17A1 inhibitor.

It is most commonly offered to men who have stopped responding to other hormone therapies.
Abiraterone acetate is a prodrug that activates on reaching the body. It selectively binds and inhibits the activity of the enzyme, CYP17A1. This reduces the production of androgens like testosterone, reducing the spread of prostate cancer.

Fluid retention or peripheral edema
High blood pressure
Urinary tract infection
Diarrhea
Chest pain or Angina
Indigestion
Blood in urine
Skin rash
Increased cholesterol levels
Reduced potassium levels
Side effects like diarrhea can be managed by drinking an ample amount of water. In case of skin rash, avoid hot water baths or scrubbing or scratching the skin. The side effects usually resolve without any treatment, but contact a doctor if the side effects persist.
